Petroleum engineers
who build software.
Greenstone was founded by three petroleum engineers with a shared frustration: the best geosteering tools were too expensive, too fragile, and built by people who had never stood in a ROC at 2am watching a well kick.
Mohamadmehdy Ahi
Mehdy is one of the three founding engineers who identified the gap in real-time geosteering access across upstream markets in 2014. With a background in petrophysics, he has spent over a decade in the field — designing geosteering workflows, operating the Remote Operation Centre, and shaping GeoMaster's core calculation engine. His operator-side experience ensures GeoMaster stays grounded in what actually happens at the wellsite.
Amin Abbasi
Amin co-founded the venture with Mehdy and Siavash in 2014 and has led the operational and business development side of the journey. He managed the company's expansion into directional drilling services, negotiated major contracts with national drilling companies and state-owned operators, and oversaw the ISO-9001 and ISO-10004 quality management programmes. His experience spans both service delivery and the strategic decisions that turned a regional engineering firm into a global software company.
Siavash Salehi
Siavash brings deep reservoir engineering expertise to the founding team — a discipline that sits at the intersection of subsurface interpretation and well placement decisions. His background directly informs GeoMaster's LookAhead module and formation evaluation workflows. As a co-founder, Siavash has been instrumental in translating reservoir-engineering thinking into software features that matter to geologists and geosteering teams in the field.
Kiarash Angoshtari
Kiarash joined the team in 2020 as a junior engineer fresh from petroleum university and quickly proved his ability to manage complex technical and coordination tasks. By 2023 he had taken full ownership of GeoMaster's product development and strategic roadmap — translating field research findings and operator feedback into a prioritised feature set. Letters of appreciation from major drilling contractors recognise his technical contribution. He owns GeoMaster's feature roadmap from collaborative workspace to AI field intelligence.
Extended expertise
Beyond the core team, GeoMaster has been shaped by practitioners across the upstream value chain.
Geosteering Technology
Senior geosteering practitioners from North America with combined field experience across multiple basins, who informed our early methodology and software design.
Software Architecture
Academic collaborators from a leading technical university faculty who co-developed the original geosteering platform that became the foundation of GeoMaster.
Drilling Engineering
Field drilling engineers and DDOs who participated in shadow pilots and continue to provide operator-side feedback on the platform's real-world usability.
Join the team
We look for upstream professionals who are curious about software, and software engineers who are serious about getting the physics right. Reach out if that describes you.
