Greenstone Energy is not a startup built by software developers who discovered oil and gas. We are petroleum engineers who spent over a decade delivering geosteering and drilling services at the wellsite, and built the tools we needed because none existed.
That history shapes everything: our product decisions, our honesty about what's proven versus in development, and our insistence on running shadow pilots before asking anyone to change their workflow.
From field engineers
to a global platform
A decade of real upstream work, contracts signed, software built under pressure and ISO certifications earned at REPPCO, before we launched a single product page.
The Vision
Three petroleum engineers, each with 5+ years in petrophysics, drilling and business development, identified a gap: modern geosteering technology was inaccessible to many upstream operators across emerging markets. They set out to change that.
First Company Founded
Formally established as an engineering consultancy. Secured partnerships with Chinook Consulting (geosteering services) and became regional representatives for ROGII's StarSteer platform. Began delivering real-time geosteering bundled into directional drilling services.
€2.12M First Major Contract
Signed as subcontractor to a major national drilling company for geosteering and directional drilling services. Grew the team to 20+ engineers and operations staff. Established a Remote Operation Centre (ROC), at the time a unique capability in the region.
€12M Extension: Then the Pivot
Secured a €12M contract extension with the same client. When our third-party geosteering software was abruptly withdrawn from the market, we refused to walk away from our clients. Instead, the founders began building their own geosteering software.
Quality Certified
The founders' company REPPCO achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 10004 certification.
GeoMaster Takes Shape
Kiarash Angoshtary, who joined in 2021, advanced to Product Manager. The platform was redesigned end-to-end as a cloud-native, browser-based system with WITSML data import, collaborative workspaces and AI field intelligence. GeoMaster as a product began to take its final form.
Greenstone Energy, UK
In April 2026 the four co-founders established Greenstone Energy Ltd in England & Wales (Co. No. 17151768) to bring GeoMaster to the global upstream market as a cloud-native SaaS platform. The journey from field engineers building tools for themselves to a UK technology company serving the global industry.

We built under pressure
When our geosteering software was withdrawn mid-contract in 2018, we didn't renegotiate our way out. We built a replacement. That's how GeoMaster started.
We've signed real contracts
€30M+ in contracts secured before GeoMaster was a product, including €15M in directional drilling. ISO 9001 and ISO 10004 certified at REPPCO. Our quality processes were built from contract obligations, not a checklist.
We're honest about what's proven
GeoMaster is live. The Mud Logging workspace is in shadow pilots. Our ML kick detection is flagged as a roadmap item. We tell you what's working, not what we hope will work.
